Ryan Jimmo ties UFC fastest knockout record in debut at UFC 149

After a decorated career with the Canadian promotion MFC, Ryan Jimmo made a memorable UFC debut. He knocked out Anthony Perosh in seven seconds at UFC 149 in Calgary on Saturday.

Light heavyweight Jimmo took two steps in at Perosh before unloading a massive right hand that knocked Perosh right against the fence. He followed up with a strike on the ground, but it wasn't needed. Referee Josh Rosenthal stopped the fight, and Jimmo's win streak was extended to 17.

"I'm very happy, Joe. I'm very happy," Jimmo said to commentator Joe Rogan. "He's a big strong guy, so I went at him."

UFC president Dana White was pleased with Jimmo's debut.

"WOW!!! Ryan Jimmo just tied the fastest KO in UFC history!" White tweeted.

Jimmo is now 17-1 and 1-0 in the UFC. Before fighting with the UFC, Jimmo showed why a fighter shouldn't give up after one loss. He was knocked out in his first fight, but has won 17 bouts since then. Though he was impressive in Canada, Jimmo was only known in the U.S. to the most fervent of fight fans, but now he will be known for a seven-second debut.

Perosh was on a three-fight win streak before ending up on the wrong end of an MMA record. He is now 13-7, and 3-2 in his most recent streak in the UFC.

Article Body:
Motorcycle riders often get an unjustified reputation as being reckless, risk takers, and that they generally disobey traffic laws. This perception is unfounded and there are many statistics that back up the fact that most motorcycle accidents are not the fault of the motorcycle rider, but that of another driver.

A major study conducted by the University of Southern California (USC) found that approximately three-fourths of motorcycle accidents involved a collision with another vehicle, usually a passenger automobile. It was also found that in the multiple vehicle accidents, the driver of the other vehicle violated the motorcycle right-of-way and caused the accident in two-thirds of those accidents. Further the study by USC found that the failure of motorists to detect and recognize motorcycles in traffic is the predominating cause of motorcycle accidents. The driver of the other vehicle involved in collision with the motorcycle did not see the motorcycle before the collision, or did not see the motorcycle until too late to avoid the collision.

These findings go to show that the motorcycle rider has unjustly received a bad reputation from the general public as well as from insurance companies that cover motorcycle riders. Motorcycles are inherently prone to accidents caused by other drivers because of their small size. Motorcycles easily fit into the blind spot of typical passenger automobiles. The truth is that most motorcycle riders are very good drivers and keep an eye out for motorists who do not see them. This awareness of other drivers however does not prevent all accidents.

When accidents such as these happen, the insurance company of the driver who is at fault will go to great lengths to keep from giving the motorcycle rider the money he or she deserves. Insurance companies will frequently rush the victim to make a quick settlement as a way to save money. Most people in the general public are not insurance experts and do not know if they are getting a bad deal from the insurance company or not. When a check is stuck in front of them it can be quite tempting to sign.

Taking the insurance companies first offer is usually a mistake. Other times the insurance company of the other driver will try to not pay at all for the accident and resulting injuries. They often try to make it appear that the motorcycle rider was at fault in the accident. It is not hard to convince a jury of this since motorcycle riders have this unjust reputation of being less than careful.

This is why it is critically important to have a qualified and competent lawyer on your side if you find yourself the victim of a motorcycle accident. A qualified lawyer will help make sure that you get the settlement that you deserve; a settlement that will cover your medical bills as well as paying for the damage to your motorcycle. Not having a lawyer to stand up for you will cost you more than just money, it will also cause you a great deal of headaches and heartache. Trying to fight an insurance company on your own, while at the same time dealing with physical injuries can be an overwhelming task.

A qualified lawyer is the only one who will be on your side in case of an accident. A lawyer works for you and only you. The insurance company works for their shareholders and will try very hard to keep from getting you the money that you deserve.

All You Need To Know When Planning To Travel Abroard

When it is time to take that long-awaited journey to a foreign destination, the excitement can be exhilarating. The stress in planning the trip, however, can be equally intense. There is no need to have excessive stress over the preparation, if you have the needed information to plan carefully. Read on for some ideas on executing the journey with the lowest amount of stress possible.

1.The most basic thing you need to do is to have all the required documentation that you need for departure and re-entry to and from international destinations. Most places that you visit will require a passport, in the very least. Obtain a legal passport well in advance, allowing time for passport photos and delivery times. In addition, many countries will require visas for entry and departure. Visit the U.S. State Department website to find out about visas and required immunizations.

2.Know the laws in each country you plan to visit, including driving laws, alcohol consumption and unique legal restraints on behavior. These could include clothing if visiting strict Islamic countries, or even things like chewing gum in public. Know that visitors are not exempt from laws that govern ordinary citizens in the country you are in. Have contact information for embassies in case you get into trouble.

3.Check with your health insurance provider to see if you are covered for medical emergencies while abroad. If visiting countries with national health provisions, do not assume that you will be treated at no cost. It is unlikely that you would be turned away for medical care, but you may be held responsible for the associated costs. If necessary, purchase health insurance that would cover you if you need medical attention while traveling.

4.Find out ahead of time what items are allowed or prohibited to bring into the country you are visiting. There are often limitations on the amount of currency you can bring, so find out the limits ahead of time. Be aware of restricted items for carrying onto an airplane, and pack prohibited items such as weapons or liquids in your checked baggage. Be sure to declare them if required.

5.Always take safety precautions when traveling abroad. Refrain from accepting rides from strangers, and keep all valuables in a safe at your hotel. Know which areas are considered to be high crime regions of a city, and avoid them, especially at night. Carry as little cash as possible, and be willing to give up your purse or wallet to spare injury or assault. Make sure your bank and credit card provider know that you are traveling internationally, and have their phone numbers stored electronically for easy access in case of theft.

6.If at all possible, try to blend in with the locals and avoid looking like a tourist. Store maps on your cell phone in order to attract less attention, and dress in the generally accepted fashions for the city. Never take a taxi that is not a recognized transportation mode, and ask for rates ahead of time.

7.Nothing spells "tourist" more than a complete inability to converse in the native language. It is not necessary these days to learn the entire language, when there are a multitude of translation devices available. Bring along a handheld electronic translator or a dictionary. Locals will in the very least appreciate your efforts to communicate with them in the local dialect.

8.Research all the places you would like to visit and plan a schedule that allows for each one. You can always change it as you go, but having a plan will ensure that you do not miss out on the important sites that you are interested in experiencing.

Use the ideas here to plan well for your journey, then relax and enjoy the experience of traveling abroad. You will likely bring home memories that will last a lifetime.

Still Getting Economy Objections? Try This Approach - Sales Training

A sluggish economy gives prospects a ton of objections and reasons to stall. Unfortunately, many sales people still have a difficultly time overcoming these, ?econojections.? The main reason sales people have such problems with econojections is that they are not objections at all. The state of the economy, be it local, national or global, is a condition, hence the term ?economic conditions.? Unlike an objection, a condition presents a situation or set of circumstances that you cannot change or affect.

Therefore, instead of trying to battle and rebut these stalls, take the following approach.

Ok, So Now What?
Since neither you nor the prospect can change economic conditions, the question becomes, what is the prospect going to do about the situation? Is the prospect going to give up, close their doors and just lie down and die? Probably not. Therefore, bad economy or no, business must and will go on.

First, ask the prospect what they are going to do. Be very direct and ask the prospect, who is complaining that they cannot make the purchase because the economy is so bad, to explain what they are going to do. Are they going to close their doors or continue doing business in spite of the economy?

If they are going to close their doors, then you may want to reconsider this company as a viable prospect. However, if they plan to go on and make it through these tough times, then have them make that clear.

Economy Objection or Economic Strategy
Most often, the prospect will confess that business will go on. However, the stipulation will be something to the point of saving money, tightening the budget and overall cutting back on expenses, and that should open the door.

Whatever it is that you sell; you should be able to tie a savings of some kind to the benefits of the product or service. Benefits may include saving time, money, man-hours, or something. Or, the benefits can include increasing income, which also relates to money and survival. You should be able to show how what you sell will help them achieve their goal to succeed in a sluggish economy.

As an example:

Prospect
?I?m sorry, but with the economy the way it is, I just can?t justify spending any money right now.

Sales Person
?Steve, let me ask you a question, and please be straight with me. What are you going to do? I mean, yes the economy is not doing very well. But what are you going to do? Are you going to close down and go out of business??

Prospect
?Of course, not. However, I do have to be careful. I have to tighten the budget.?

Sales Person
?You mean that you need to be as lean and mean as you can right now??

Prospect
?That?s right.?

Sales Person
?I agree with you, Steve, and that is exactly what we are talking about. Perhaps I didn?t show you how our new XJ2000 will help you reduce your expenses in the warehouse, while??

That is a generic example and as always not meant to be a script, but I think you get the idea.

Happy Selling
