Friday's The Hot List: Health Financial Wellness Art Music Vintage ...

Wow, that title is a mouthful and this post is just as full. So, let me save the introduction and get to this week?s:

Baobab Wellness, an organization that promotes a holistic approach to fitness and health, launched a comprehensive online portal at www.BaobabWellness.org. Baobab Wellness offers guidance on the various ways individuals can take control of their fitness for the long haul through the facilitation of health and nutrition education, and exercise workshops.

Baobab Wellness was founded by two Queens, friends, and bloggers Krishna Davenport and Raquel Penzo.

Their mission is not to force anyone to conform to their lifestyle; instead, they wish to encourage and lead by example.

The website and organization will serve as a resource for those looking the best way to achieve total mind, body and spirit wellness, through workshops and collaborations with fitness and health professionals.

Boabab wellness held its first workshop on February 19, 2012. The workshop featured certified Zumba? instructor Kali Blocker, holistic health counselor Marian Isel Barrag?n and licensed Socacize? instructor Simone Warner. The workshop sought to show attendees that fitness could be a fun, albeit lifelong, journey.

For those of us, who missed this fantastic event, do not fret, even, as you read this, future wellness workshops are being planned.

If you do not live in the NYC area or are unable to attend workshops; you can still support these lovely women and allow them to support you on your journey of healthier living. By visiting: Baobab Wellness

The Frugalista Files: How One Woman Got Out of Debt Without Giving Up the Fabulous Life was written by Natalie McNeal the founder of The Frugalista Files

?Natalie McNeal opened her bills in January 2008 to find that she was a staggering five figures?$20,000!?in debt. Young, hip and gainfully (if Dilbert-ly) employed, Natalie loved her lifestyle of regular mani/pedis, daily takeout and nights on the town, but clearly something had to give.?

Now, let me tell you all that this book is not a how-to book. It is the personal story of how one woman conquered her shopping filled extravagant lifestyle; written in her personal style and in her own voice. Nonetheless, it is an enjoyable read. I also find it extremely interesting as a blogger. The story behind how she started her blog and built it. So, if you are looking for a easy and enjoyable read, I recommend you follow a year in the life of Natalie in the The Frugalista Files: How One Woman Got Out of Debt Without Giving Up the Fabulous Life.

I was referred to the site Vanity Cases by Collene Kennnedy. by someone who thought I might really like some of the drawings. They were right. I mean who doesn?t like fabulous, fun, and cute?

?My art and woman-to-woman humor is directed to those who understand the importance of good hair days, shopping, shoes and chocolate AND saving the world, all at the same time! Who says we can?t be fabulous and deep?!? ? Collene Kennedy.
